Cabela's

Cabela's in Acworth, Georgia has officially opened as of August 21. Just if anyone didn't know or hasn't been down towards atlanta in while. Its right off I-75 exit #277 in Acworth on the east side of hwy just above the big city atlanta.

Several of us went down to Cabela's for the grand opening-we were not impressed with the store did not buy one thing-the only store I've been in that didn't carry any Stren Line-don't waste your gas unless you are going that way or just goofing off! I'll stay with Soddy Tackle and Bass Pro-for my fishing products!

I went in the store today and while it doesn't have anywhere near the variety of products as other Cabelas I have been in.. it is well stocked... I saw some different size lures that I didn't even know existed.... Not sure where I would use it but they have a huge rattle trap.... That thing was giant. As for worms and stuff like that... I live in Dalton and Pro Lures has a better selection.

It is the smallest Cabelas I have seen. The one outside of Detroit is massive.... the one in Chicago is pretty large as well. I wonder how the new one near us will compare?

They are going to be outpost locations, smaller and less variety. Still gonna do all my shopping g online unless I get a family member to go to work at one of the local store to try to get employee discount if employees get one...

This was the second Cabela's I've been to. (the other was in South Carolina) and I haven't been impressed with either. To me, if they'd do a two story set up like the BPS in Seveirville, they would be a lot better off. Maybe we will get lucky and the two stores in East Ridge and Fort O will get into enough of a pissing contest, being that close together, that they will have great selections in both....wishful thinking I'm sure.

Chattanooga will be the same size as Acworth. 80 or 85k sq ft, can't remember. Referencing the other locations as described above (Detroit, Chicago, etc) does not relate to Chattanooga. Small market, small stores; however, 85k is not small. Compared to a 205k walmart, yes, it's small, but compared to academy, dick's, etc, it is larger.

I've been an avid Cabelas customer for many years, their hunting blows BPS out of the water. The Cabelas in Fort Worth is a special place to see. If anyone is ever in the area, it is absolutely 100% worth the trip. One of their flagship stores.

At this time, the one here will not have a boat center like the one in Acworth.

The old store in Sydney is the one to see. It is the satellite store and distribution hub for all of them. Every bin is packed. Their quality of clothing is second to none.

I'm just excited about ship to store and being able to return it if it isn't exactly what I want. The selection around here is pretty abysmal for heavier catfish gear.
