Looking to do some crappie fishing around the Chickamauga/nickajack area. Don't have a boat so it would be from the bank. Any suggestions on where to go??

I see a lot of people fishing both sides of the Wolftever Bridge. Sometimes it can be good. Several areas around Harrison Bay State Park can be good from the bank as can Chester Frost on the far side past the campgrounds if you walk to the river point and work your way back along either the river bank or the creek bank to your left. Booker T Washington State Park is another area with lots of bank fishing available. Of course, you have to keep moving until you find the fish. Just like in a boat.

I always see people fishing for crappie on both sides of the Wolftever bridge. Ive caught a few from my boat on the way in. Another place i always see crappie fishermen is on the fishing piers in Booker T Washington. Seen a lot of crappie caught there when i used to bank fish for bass at Booker T.

Thanks for the info! I think Booker T will be my next place to go. I went to Chester Frost today and the water was too low to get on any fish from the bank.

Haha thanks for the heads up, I've only fished the bridge once around wolvetever, and it was so busy I didn't really enjoy or catch much. Maybe I should try and pick a better day.

Another spot I caught before from the bank is at the Tyner Lane ramp area.

If you're from Trenton-you might try Running water creek bridge.
Take I59 to 24 split north and get off at Haletown exit (first one). Turn right and look for the bridge under the power lines.
It's usually a fall bight there-but you never know. Plus it's a whole lot closer than those spots on Chick.
And if you need anything-pass the bridge and a bait and tackle shop is right there.
Good luck!

I usually fish around there during the spring and summer. The old road bed across the bridge is usually a hot spot too. Thanks for the info everybody! If any of you guys wouldn't mind me tagging along someday I'd love to learn and get to know some of the members.
