I did it again. Was using a trap bouncing it off the bottom and felt what seemed to be a good hit, set the hook. It even felt like a good fish when it moved and at first started to put up a good fight. Then it just went dead. emoScratch Reeled it up to find a pretty nice spinning rod and reel combo was fighting me. emoBigsmile Still have the bait attached with the bail not engaged. It appeared to have fallen off someone's boat. Rinsed the mud off, made a cast with it and other then what I think was a little mud under the spool it worked fine. I do not think it had been there all that long. If this sounds like your rod and reel, ID it, where you lost it and you can have it back. This is the third time I have caught a nice rod and reel on the Chick. The other two times it was amazing to believe but the guys who lost them got them back. Shall we go for three? emoGeezer Jmax

I'm glad that there is people like you still out there. Way to many would just keep it. I have one out there and maybe you will find it sometime. I know you fish in the area I lost it in. Mine was a All Pro APX m/h baitcaster. Hopefully the owner will get it back if not it is in the hands of a good honest man.

I lost a Berkley, Motion at the orchard over from Johnsons hump. It had a Quantum reel with white braid with a floro leader and i'm pretty sure it had a drop shot tied on.

Thanks, My wife and I every year pick a child in need of some help for Christmas and donate to that child. This year we have a ninth grade boy who wants some fishing stuff as well as the normal clothing and things. This rod and reel is nice enough that if no one claims it I will clean it up even more. Then give it to him. emoThumbsup Jmax

Nope, I am going to say the most I would think this was in the water was a year, probably less. Even the hook on it was still good. I actually rinsed it off in the water, turned the bail over and made a cast with it. Line was still good and it reeled in. Needed to be cleaned under the spool and oiled but other then that it was ready to be fished. emoSmile Jmax

I had a similar but different experience at lake junior. I was casting and thought I hooked a fish. I was mistaken and it was just some line I snagged on. Then while reeling it in I found it was fighting me and a fish was on the other end of the line.

Anyways good luck finding the owner.

Wouldn't be an uglystick would it? My wife threw an ugly stick over in the cove near Harrison Bay 2-3 weeks ago. Even though I was really frustrated I tried to make light of the situation by laughing a little and she got pissed because I laughed. The rest of the trip didn't go very well. Lol
