Guided flats trips in the keys

Hey all. I'm planning on taking off to Florida with a few classmates over spring break (a mistake and a half, i know...but eh what the heck. i'll cuss about it when i get there!). We will be on Long Key camping March 14th and 15th and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with some backwater flats guides that would be reasonably priced for a poor veterinary student. I'm good with fly or light tackle, but mostly want to land some good flats fish and bring something home to eat. I've been flipping through ads too, but I would rather hear directly from folks that have experience with the guides. I have also considered renting a kayak but we aren't driving my truck so I don't think it'll be very easy for me to haul one of those around in my friend's mazda. Thanks in advance!

Google Bob LeMay
I grew up with him and he is one of the best.
He has a site and posts a lot of his trips.
One of the best in that area...

There is a site called www.microskiff.com might also ask there. You might even find someone would take a struggling student out. I'd stress the "vet student". There are a lot of animal lovers out there....

I second Bob LeMay. I fished with him three days last March out of Chokoloskee and he taught me more than I could have learned in three years on my own. He is a very nice man that will drive you to use your best effort.

Thanks guys. I pulled up Bob's site and it looks like he works out of miami. That would be a bit of a haul back up from he keys. Richg99, I'll check out micro skiff and see what i can find.

Check out Robbie's at Islamorada. They have pretty much anything you could want for Keys fishing. Party boats, deep sea charters, reef charters, flats charters, etc.

You can also hand feed giant tarpon and snook there

Bob met me in Chokoloskee. I'd give him a call and see what he says he will travel and fishes out of Flamingo a lot. There is also great tarpon fishing out of Biscane Bay near where he lives.
