Boat rentals

I have a small car that doesn't have the power to tie even a small boat. I remember my father taking me on fishing trips while camping and renting a boat for very cheap. However, I can only find 2 places on the net for rentals. One on chickamauga the other on nickajack. Each for a small skiff is over $100 for 8 hours. Anyone know of better prices or places on either lake? Don't really have that kind of money, and even if I did, I'd be better off saving 5-6 times that and buying my own. Not looking for anything fancy, just something to get me out there. I appreciate any help and information you folks have.

You could also consider a kayak. They weigh less than 100 lbs and can be car topped on the smallest of vehicles. There are a number of local kayak fishing clubs, too. richg99

Hmm, I'll definitely have to look into that. I drive a Mazda Miata right now, so realistically I'd have to use my girlfriends car to transport that. I just always thought if you hooked something big enough it could tip you and your lose everything.

They catch five foot sharks out of ten foot yaks weekly near. Galveston in TX. Sit on Top style yaks are used, mostly. If you want to drive an hour or two, you can try my little 9 footer out. A 12 footer is pretty stable and more standard, though. richg99

Thanks Rich, I'll see about taking you up on that maybe next week. Until I start my new job, I have Tuesday to Thursday off. Using that time to fish. Just trying to get a feel for the new area.

Well, I am way over near Crossville, but the offer stands. We have many small lakes in the subdivision. richg99
