Checking Livewells

I have finally reached a point where I want to start fishing some tourneys, but I have never used my livewells for anything but storage since I bought the boat back in 1999. With reading about folks having problems with leaks and so forth was looking for any kind of input on where I should start to make sure they are operating properly. thanks Chuck.

Was thinking that would be a way to go. Recommendations on what or what not to use to clean them with so I don't leave any residue of the wrong chemical in them. Thanks.

I use dawn and a soft scrubber pad to clean both sides of mine. Rinse thoroughly and they should be fine. Filling them is great for checking for leaks but unless you have recirculation pumps or pump out
you will have to put the boat in the water to check the aerator pump.

Thanks for the info Aries 181. Will get them cleaned this week and check everything I can on land and mess around with them his weekend on the water.
