Not sure about TN laws, but you'd be fine in GA as long as it's not primitive weapons or archery season.

Don't know in Tenn, in Ga you can carry any handgun if you have a carry permit. If you don't have a carry permit, it would be illegal in Ga to carry a 22 Cal. While deer hunting unless it is a center fire (22 hornet etc.) 22 rim fire is considered a small game weapon only in Ga. but with a carry permit it is allowed for personal protection only. Hope all this does not make it confusing.

I think any handgun with barrel shorter than 6" is illegal to shoot deer with, but that doesn't mean you can't carry them. I don't know why the same rule wouldn't apply to a 22 even if it's longer than 6".

You can carry any handgun for the purpose of self defense, not hunting with, during any hunting trip as longs as you have a carry permit. If not permit you will be cited and charged.

I was told you could carry your personal protection weapon at any time, even out of season if you are scouting.

You can carry any sidearm on any Tennessee wma as long as it doesn't say other wise. Like aedc etc. as long as you have your concealed carry you can carry it anywhere you wanna take it.

In GA your not required to have a permit to open carry while hunting. Big game and small game seasons run concurrently so you could carry a center fire rifle and a rim fire pistol as long as you had your orange on and the pistol was openly carried. O.C.G.A.16-11-126(f). WITH THAT BEING SAID.. any other time or place would require a permit as GA is no longer an open carry state with respect to a handgun.
