I have never fished Douglas lake around Dandridge Tennessee. The tournament I am fishing is late April. Does it fish like the Chick? or is it a little different?

I just need some general ideas not looking for coordinates. LOL

You can post it here or pm me.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

No it doesn't fish like the Chick. It is a deep lake with no current. It has a lot of points with rock. In spots you can touch a rock bluff with your rod and be setting in 60' of water. I can't remember the name of the creek but I like to fish the pocket just to the left of the dam. It has some standing timber in the back of it. Hope this helps.

If your putting in at the dam, go a little to the right, into the islands, fish the steep banks. Not big fish but a lot of keepers.

Douglas lake level is dropped over 40+feet for Winter pool. The lake will not be at full pool in late April. You will have some cover in the water at this time but not much. Most tourneys this time of year is won deep on points and humps. Douglas has lots of small fish and the fish tend to school up by size. If you can find the right school of big fish in some deeper locations, you can catch a good bag. The spawn on Douglas is later than the Chick. You will also find some largemouth bedding at this time of year in the shallows. Flat Creek, near the dam, McGuire Creek and Muddy Creek are three of the better creeks on this lake. Best of luck!!

C-rigging a lizard and/or a centipede in some shade of green should get a lot of bites. Fish the points in the creeks mentioned above. Would also pitch a lizard around any shallow cover available. The lake should be filling. Pitching a jig in the debris field that collects in the very back of pockets can produce.

I was up at Pigeon Forge today and made a detour over to Douglas just to find the launch ramp. The lake reminded me of Lake Mead in Nevada. Nothing but bare banks and rocks. The water appeared to be about 25 foot below summer level. This is going to be an interesting tournament.
