Water level on nickajack

Why have they dropped nickajack by a good 2.5ft to 3ft?

Because no one is in charge, they answer to no one and they're jerks. If you call the dam and ask, they'll tell the lake doesn't fluctuate more than a couple inches a day, but they only check the level at midnight. So, who knows why it's down. Happens all the time, for no apparent reason.

When the floodgates are open on chic and nick after a lot of rain the water flow is help back through the river canyon. The lower end of nick drains faster than the water upriver flows into the lake. That has a lot to do with the way the lake fluctuates.

Anyone know how the water level is on the lower lake side. Hopeing to put kayak in.

As of yesterday afternoon, there was plenty of water to float a kayak.

It was a little cloudy but could see down about 18 inches

Yep, stained and down at least 18 inches on Nickajack.
