got a floating green led light on the rear
and a florescent (green tube) on the front
tube light has a weight attached to allow it sink
I usually get it around 6 ft deep
both work well
I don't normally fish anywhere except the bridge.. you got some favorite spots?
;)

I have not crappie fished at night in years but thought I might want to try again. The last time we went was about 15 yrs ago and we fished just outside of Harrison Bay. We didn't catch too many crappie but we must have caught well over 100 lbs of catfish. We were dumping our dead shad back in the water about every 30 mins and I think they attracted every catfish within a mile. Was just wondering what kind of light everyone was using now. BACK THEN WE HUNG LANTERNS OVER THE SIDE OF THE BOAT. I guess that tells my age,

I got my limit today plus I threw every ten inch crappie (6) back in and eventually put them all back. Got them all on minnows in 10-15-20 feet.

went to wolftever this morning // fishing around bridge // loaded with 11-12 inch fish
we got a limit using slip floats /// fishing @ 15 ft depth // probably caught 30 or so shorts // we ran out of minnows with 20 keepers and started in on em with blue thunder (B.G.) and blue hair jigs // 16th oz
good trip // was out of the water around noon

Way to go. Where do you get your Minnows? Got mine at Hamilton's. bunch of real tiny ones. Not too lively and they died soon after hooking them. I ran out of four dozen pretty quick.

hamiltons // I have a battery aerator in one my minnow buckets to keep em kicking //
I like the smaller minnows best and so does the crappie
boat traffic was a killer around noon when we were leaving //

I too have an aerator for my Engel bait cooler, however, I found the opposite to be true...a mid size fatty was much more lively and caught more fish. Are you using an Aberdeen hook and how are you hooking them. Thanks for sharing ..I appreciate it.

I go to a smaller hook using the smaller minnows. #4 bream long shank // hooking thru both lips
some of those minnows I got yesterday were 3/4 in long ... most were around 1-1/4 inch ... take care ... maybe see ya on the water...
