We sold my boat when my son was born a little over a year ago. Needless to say I have been hopeful we would have a breakthrough in our income to be able to afford a better safer boat but alas that is put off for a bit longer. However my wife just surprised me with a fishing kayak and I am super pumped about it. I love shallow water fishing and little back creeks. I have already added a lifted seat and a couple of rod holders are in the mail. Plus it is awesome to think It won't cost me a dime to use.

i would NOT recommend Sit-On-tops for Hiwassee River... at least the upper section. there is quite a bit of small white water. I am also new to Kayak fishing this year but have had limited opportunity to use mine and mostly because of the weather for smaller creeks. they have stayed muddy most of the year so far. I hear the south chick is good to fish. also there seems to be a pretty good little shallow water creek up in sale creek though i have not fished it. there is an APP called Launch Sites that will help you really zero in on and find new places for Kayak fishing you might be interested in. also talking to Locals will draw information as well. Good Luck and Tight Lines!!

I just pick up a kayak this past weekend. I had a little bass tracker that i have had a ton of problems out of this year. I decided to at least enjoy my trips i would down grade to a kayak. I took it out for a while on Saturday and really enjoyed my self. I've been looking a upgrades all morning!!

Lower end of the Ocoee is good also, just need to look at generation schedules. Good place to float to is Two rivers camp ground, where Ocoee and Hiwassee meet.
