Whopper Ploppers?

Was thinking about picking up one to improve my top water strikes. Didn't realize they were $17 LOL Any feedback on these lures? Was hoping to get some real feedback before buying one.

Thank you much!!

they will bite it, getting them in the boat can be another story..............

Took me a year to finally catch a fish on these things. I downsized from the 130 to the 90 size, and first cast with the 90 in June I caught a 5# and 4# LM on back to back casts. Like Rusty said, getting them to the boat is another story, I have lost a lot more than I have caught on it since then.

I have caught zero fish on the larger one. I can't keep count of what i caught on the smaller size.

I'll give the smaller one a try. Got a few short stokes on my bone colored spook last week and want to try something different. Thanks

Hey guys they have recently come out with the 110 size and I think they made the tail where it would shed grass better. The 110 is perfect size being that it is in between the 90 and 130. I bought one and made a couple casts and the tail ripped off. Pretty disappointed in that outcome, but I have caught a lot of bass on the 90.

Caught most of my bass and a gar or two on the 110 sized ones this year. Haven't had any come off and they even worked during the spawn. Pulled them up to the top even in midday Sun with no grass. Looks like someone dropped a cinder block in when they get struck on.

Just like any other bait... right conditions and they work awesome. I have caught a load of fish on them one day nad not a sniff the next. It is a bait I tie on often though.

I've fished the paint off of the 130 with NO results. I bought the 90 in black bird and started to slaughter them! The triple grip hooks are awesome as I've never lost a fish on it!

I've had tons of success with the smaller one. I recently bought the bigger size and have yet to catch one with it. Not saying it won't work but if you want my 2 cents buy the smaller one first.

I've bought several of them last year in both 90 and 130. I have yet to catch a bass or even get a short strike. I know if I keep casting eventually one will eat it. My problem is when I'm reeling in the 90. During the retrieve, it will barrel roll back to the boat. I've tried mono, fluro, and braid. I've also tried several different gear ratios from 5:4 through 8:3 and have yet to find the right setup. The 130's always run true... it's just the 90's that continually give me this problem. Any suggestions, thanks?!?!

A split ring took care of the problem for me

I've caught plenty with the 90 series on a couple different lakes. To me, it just another top water option, which is fun. Been skunked using them too.
