The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is working hard to keep Asian carp from continuing their march up the Tennessee River. Frank Fiss, TWRA Fisheries chief, presented an update on Asian carp at the most recent gathering of the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission.

Wonder how those sound blasting devices would affect other species of fish in the nearby area below dams?

Fiss says that might be something else they learn from testing. He says, however, that the carp species "hear" in a different way than most fish species and the hope is that the "repellent" factor would be species-specific. But the only way they'll know for sure is to try it.
