I don't know if any of you do your own bearing upgrades but through tomorrow Spool Speed bearings has a deal for any size ceramic bearings for $5 each. I have used others in the past but Matt Jenkins said he liked the spool speed. Check them out on Facebook or give them a call.

Can you tell much of a difference in changing to ceramic?

Back about 12 years ago I order a complete assortment of bearings, pawls, springs and gears for my Shimano Chronach gold case reels and have enough to rebuild my reels about 5 times and I think I might have used 1 complete set since I got the kit. Still can do about 5 more and will probably get passed down when I die...........LOL Those Gold case Shimano's just don't wear out. The ones I am using I bought back in 1990 and still working great today.

Eric, ceramic bearings are not as quiet as stainless, but they are much smoother and will cast a mile when lubricated properly. Spool Speed makes a great bearing.
