Question Regarding Merc Warranty

Do I need proof of warranty to have my Opti worked on?

Backstory:
I purchased a used boat just before Christmas. The Motor still has a year or so left on the warranty. I still have not received any warranty papers or information from the marina. The motor gives me six beeps about five minutes after start up. It doesn’t beep again until I shut down, then restart and then idle for five minutes. I would like to take the boat to a mechanic and was curious if I needed proof of warranty.

Thanks for the help!

If you bought it and registered to you then you should be able to call merc ensure that it does still have warranty and then take it to fish n fun that is the ONLY place I would take mine

A Mercury dealer should be able to check your warranty by your serial number
If they can't, they shouldn't be working on your boat

GET ME YOUR SERIAL NUMBER AND I CAN CHECK FOR YOU. You normally have 30 days from purchase to get it swapped.

Thanks for the replies. I contact the marina almost every week and get the same answer, “it’s in the works”. Very frustrating.

TNsnow, I’ll pm you my details.
