Hotel near Tims Ford

May go over to Tims Ford in a few days. Anyone want to recommend a boat friendly place to stay nearby?</p>

Never been on the lake... I really have no idea where to start.</p>

There are cabins at the state park. You can probably get off season rates right now. The state park is mid lake. Fishing is good on main lake around state park and Kitchen Creek. Fishing is also good around Holiday Marina & in Turkey creek. Upper end of lake including Elk River seems to have more largemouth than lower end. Smallmouth are all over.

The smallmouth are more fun to catch. It's hard to beat a crankbait this time of year. Find a wind blown bank with a mudline and you'll find the fish.
