Reserve oil tank

The reserve tank has two screw on caps. One to fill oil and the other with two hoses going to motor. Does the cap with two hoses come off? I thought power pole reservoir may be leaking but it may be big oil reservoir. I wanted to remove without taking the two hoses off cap. Thanks for any help.

Is this a Mercury? If so, try tightening the cap with the hoses. Mine will seep occasionally. Don't fill the tank past ~85% full.

Yes, it is a Mercury. Wherever it is coming from it’s a very slow leak. Half dollar size or less pool in three days. Could fluid be leaking from hydraulic hose? Boat has not been used since late summer early fall. Thanks for the advice.

You can see and smell the difference between 2 stroke and hydraulic oil. Its not likely the lines are seeping oil unless it is dripping down from a pump connection. The oil tank caps can leak a little. My fill cap leaks slightly over time. . Merc oil system works off of engine crankcase pressure to the tank so, any air leak will show oil. If one of the caps are leaking you will see a film of oil on the side of the tank or the floor at the base of the tank. Hope this helps.
