Wacky rigged mini sticks work as well as Senkos !

I was fooling around with a new stick mold this winter, stick size 2 3/4" and decided to dip the thin stick back into the hot plastic to increase lure thickness. In April my pond was ice free and I wacky rigged the mini-stick with a 1/32 oz ball head jig like in the picture:

The tips quivered just like a sinking Senko on the fall - which got my attention fast! This week I finally decided to use it in a small lake loaded with pan fish, med. size bass and pickerel. Twitching the rod made the tip quiver faster and man did it get slammed by gills, bass and a few pickerel!

The fish hooked themselves and kind of looked a bit comical wearing what resembled a mustache with the lure sideways in their mouths. emoLaugh

(At first I added part of a grub body to the hook shank, but found it unnecessary.) Next size made will be 3" wacky rigged thin stick on a 1/16 oz jig to entice larger bass.

GY was a genius with his Senko design rigged wacky style!

Also worked was a weedless design I came up with using small gauge wire:
