How many here knew that Minn Kota has a version of the Power Pole? It's called "The Talon".

Which is better, the original or the Talon?

i think the talon has just one pole,i sorta think with one in a lot of win your boat would turn a lot.i think two poles would be better than one.just my 6 cents.

Don't have either but have done some research:

Power Poles: Con works off of hydraulic pump and there have seen some issues with pump problems. The whole unit goes down when deployed a little more co-angler friendly than the talon.

Talon: works off of boat battery with very little power draw, can be easily removed, but could get in the way of a co-angler because when the spike is deployed the top stays the same height.

The talon is lighter in weight than the Power pole with the pump.

When I get ready to buy it may be a hard decision, time will tell about the talon since it is new on the market.

Just my 2 cents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
