Rod eyes freezing?

I got a tip that if you put some glycerin on your eyes they will not freeze or build up ice? anyone ever tried this? I will be trying it soon and ill post the results.

it makes sense as glycerin repels water. I would imagine your casts might not go as far as there will be more drag on the line.
