Concept A reel by 13 Fishing

Just got the 8:1:1 gear ratio reel today and paired it up on a Powell Endurance 7'7 flipping stick. Going to put it thru the paces tomorrow. I will post back what I think of it tomorrow evening.

Well I am thoroughly disappointed in the Concept A reel.
it only took about 30 minutes and the reel completely locked up in the middle of a retrieve. Finally got it to free up and an hour later it done it about a half dozen more times. Still casts good but something is not meshing up internally because it pops when I am reeling. That is my first and last 13 Fishing product. I will be taking the reel back to Gander Mtn tomorrow.

Dont eliminate 13 fishing just yet. Their rods are good. I have an Omen Black 7'1" MH and I love it. Real light and sensitive.

I loved the reel VolsFan24. It was the best flipping reel I have ever used. Just a flick of the wrist and it would launch a 1/2 oz. Jig.
Im just not a fan of spending $170 on a reel a d less than one hour it's already tore up
