I got an email from a company that I have been in contact with, they make lithium batteries. Lithium batteries are a fraction of the weight and last 10x as long as the batteries we are currently using. to get the promotional pricing we have to order 10, so I am asking if anyone here is interested. the 40ah battery will do the job.

chargers are $23 each, would need one for each battery.

I am waiting on shipping estimate now.

Item Weight(kg) Size(mm) Voltage Capacity Regular Price (USD) Promotional Price (USD)

Shenzhen Yinkai Power Tech Co., Ltd is the name of the company that manufactures the batteries.

these are 12v lithium batteries for 24v tm you would need 2 batteries in series, for 36v you'd need 3. to go with a 80ah 12v battery, you'd be better off(based on the research and info ive got) to go with a 36v 100ah battery. to get one of them from china is not cost effective, youre just as well off going to one of the US companies and getting it.

here's the response I got about shipping:
The net weight of one 12V 40Ah battery is 5.8kg. We pack 2 batteries in one carton, gross weight 12.5kg.

So, we recommend you buy 12 pieces, 6 cartons, total weight about 75kg. The freight is even cheaper than 10 pieces.

Below is the shipping cost for your reference. ( By UPS, door to door service, including duty fee, 5-8 days from China to United States)

1) If you order 10 pieces, package 5 cartons, total weight is about 62.5kg

Freight: 525 USD

Amount: 168.8 × 10 + 525 = 2213 USD

1) If you order 12 pieces, package 6 cartons, total weight is about 75kg

Freight: 465 USD

Amount: 168.8 × 12 + 465 = 2490.6 USD

Before you get these batteries, have you contacted Stealth1? Batteries have a small amount of lithium in the case and quite a bit of boards and other electronics, all of which can go bad. You absolutely must be able to communicate with the battery maker or person putting system together. Stealth1 uses Lithium Pros Batteries, which are put together in Knoxville. Danny at Stealth1 in Hixson creates a system to make everything work. I'm not trying to pee in everybody's Wheaties here but feel the need to speak up. I have a Phoenix 921 with 36V TM. I have one 40 amp 36 volt battery and one 12 volt start battery. It works fine and I've tried to run it guts in the ground just to see. I use a Stealth charger and that keeps the 36V battery charged as I big motor from place to place. My 36V battery has a 12V post tied to start battery for emergency, thru a manual switch. Danny at Stealth1 and Kevin at Lithium Pros stand behind their products. I'm not a commercial but a very happy customer. I'm almost 60 and refuse to learn Chinese to get my boat back on the lake.

Danny sells the system cheaper than LP list their price for the batteries. Not cheap but I thought it was a great deal. I have 70 pounds of batteries in my boat. I'd be surprised if they couldn't/wouldn't make a better deal on 10 systems.

the weight difference is huge, I can believe all the go fast guys aren't all over this. if youre running a 36v tm, switching to lithium is like taking a average person out of your boat.

Me and Chuck both went with Lithium Pro and we're well pleased with the performance haven't had one problem. They are pricey but if you can find a group of guys to pool up a number of batteries they will come down on price. Danny at Stealth told us we would be better off doubling up on the trolling motor batteries wired in parallel and going with a regular battery for starting.

I'm not going to argue whether one or two 36V T/M are needed because each person is uses his boat different but just wanted to say that I was on the fence about how many and Danny told me to try 1 and see. If I wanted another one, I would be able to get it at the same price as if I had ordered them at the same time and not get punished for crawling back. As I said in earlier post, one 36V has worked great for me.

Weight difference is unbelievable and does help speed but you may have to change or tweak prop to get the most out of it.

Much more of a lithium battery is usable vs. lead/acid and that's why you see systems with 40AH lithiums being used and working. I mention this because I got hung up on 100AH batteries and got disgusted at the cost and quit thinking about changing over

I'm pretty sure that there's a lot of people running them but keeping quiet for a couple of reasons. The go fast boys want to keep the edge and not advertise to the thieving scum in their area

glad to hear folks are having success with them. I was just trying to see if there was a group of folks interested locally that we could make the minimum number to purchase them from this source.

Stick It!!

If your still looking for Lithium, you can get what you specifically need batteries and chargers from Stealth Charging Systems Hixson Pike. Give Danny a call.

I know this post is almost 2 years old and I was wondering if the guys that have been running the lithium batteries are still happy with them and if they have had any problems? how long have you had them now.
Thanks

Mne are 4 years old and I'm still happy. Truthfully, I get a little happier every time I use them. Initial cost is long forgotten
