TWRA officials say they have found the body of a man who went missing at Center Hill Lake.

Search crews found the body of Scott Northrup, 66, of Putnam County, around 11:30 a.m. Thursday. The body was recovered using a remote-operated vehicle in about 33 feet of water in the Florida Branch section of the lake. The location was less than 150 years away from where Northrup's boat was recovered.

Authorities said Northrup was not wearing a personal flotation device

He was fishing not running I would believe! I could be wrong but with the very little amount of information I would imagine that he would. It be running without his pfd on especially being the fishing coach up there?

Wouldn’t expect a lot of boat traffic this time of year either. Makes me wonder if you assume he was fishing at the time what could have happened. Prayers sent for his family.

Trolling motor turned up and turned hard can toss you out of the boat. Cold cold cold water but again not making any assumptions I wasn’t there nor know anything else be careful out there

Having some balance issues myself from time to time I always fear falling in sub 50 degree water. I bet a man wont last long in that water and Im sure it's hard to swim from the shock. Such a terrible ordeal. Prayers for his family.

I don't take mine off unless I absolutely have to and who knows he could have just taken it off for a second. I hate the thought of being in under water and my thinking is if I do go overboard for whatever reason and can't survive I hope my life vest will keep me above water so I can be located easy.
It's sad and I offer my condolences to the family and friends.
