I am not up to speed on Lakemaster maps that Humminbird uses but wondered if the SmartStrike is the exact same map as the standard Lakemaster map but with some added search features for species , water conditions and etc?

The lakemaster maps seems to load or catch up when you stop to fish, a lot slower than the other Navionics. Is this a fix for the load speed?

Is that a processor speed issue you think?, or does the Lakemaster map have that much more data to process?

Processor speed issue. What unit you got volfish? The 997 is slower compared to the 998 and 999. If you zoom out that will help on those older series

It is both a processor and lot of information, depending on what unit you have. If you have an issue with the map lagging zoom out until it is continuous; one or two notches of zoom out usually corrects this situation.

My helix 5 is slow to load the lakemaster.

Screen lagging was one of the reasons I upgraded from Helix 7's to 10's. It doesn't mater what speed I run now, the screen won't lag no matter how close I zoom, it stays constant
with no gaps. I'm sold. Thanks Johnny.
