End of Mercury 2 strokes !

Mercury Marine will stop building 2 stroke motors after July 1st this summer. Only 4 stroke motors will be rolling off the production lines. So, if anyone needs a Pro XS Optimax, now is the time to find a dealer with loose motors. This will apply to ALL Mercury Optimax model motors. Don't know how big the current production lines are so it is possible there will be some new opti's around for awhile. Some new - hot 4 stroke stuff coming out that will take a large part of the competition in the bass boat and racing motor market. Nothing against the big "Y" but, Watch out SHO.

I suspect Yamaha will have to make some changes to their supply chain if they want to hold on to their market share. SHO availability has been pitiful for a while.

It is going to get harder to find 2 stroke oil and the price will go sky high. The price is already out of control.

Good luck finding a loose Xs 225. Even Jaco marine can’t get their hands on any.
