Have a question about installing a new Garmkn unit on my boat. I purchased a new Tracker last year and it only has the small Lowrance unit at the console. I just got a Garmkn sidescan unit to put in. It looks like the original unit it wired to the fuse panel under the console. Should I wire my new unit to the fuse panel for power or straight to the battery? I’ve never installed a fish finder before. Thanks

You can also power off of an underdash fuse bar so long as it is independent / dedicated to the Garmin. Use the fuse recommended by garmin. Most buss bars have open clips (or plug-ins for atc fuses). If you will be running multiple locators and pumps all at once, better off running a seperate 12 ga pos/neg straight to the battery.
