2019 CFF TX Suggestions?

I thought I'd post my input and suggestions for the 2019 season for moderator's/officer's to consider. Maybe others will input their suggestions for consideration as well. TX hours should be extended to 3PM weigh-in. At least a happy compromise of 2:30. Especially 3PM for the classic 2 day event. 6.5-7hrs fishing time is just not enough time imo. Nothing is going to happen to us all for spending a normal 8 hrs on the water. Eliminate big SM and big Spot. Lets do 1st and 2nd BF regardless of species.Let's have a "mystery tournament". Could be an up river location on Chick or, a Chick and Nick lock-thru. Or Watts Bar dam etc. (TBA on sign-up sheet). (this would mean it could not be decided on by commitee until sign-up). A weekend 'Away' tx? Up north our club had an annual weekend away tx. Pre fish Sat, camp out and tx on Sunday. Just thought I'd throw it out there for some variety. (could be G ville, Parkville, Dale Hollow etc).

I would like to see a watts bar day tournament. i like the 3 p.m for the classic. but go to a three fish limt instead of 5.I like the mystery lake good idea.and just to make things interresting have like a mega bucks type of tounament.and set bounderies.that would be fun.and up the entry fee for the tournaments by $10 and pay 5 places.

I don't get to fish enough to be entitled to have an input but if anyone even cares... I think 6 hours is long enough to figure something or give up. Early spring and fall when the weather isn't as hot go 7 hours but when it gets hot shorten it up. I dislike the night tourneys because they go so late. I got up early for work that morning and my body is dead tired around midnight. Anything after that is a blur to me and I just want to go to bed. So I say shorten the night tournaments or start earlier. 3 fish in the heat of summer and 5 spring and fall. Require non puncture cull tags. Offer free entry fee to next tournament to the smallest limit weight at the scales. More ppl would weigh in if they thought they had a chance to win something. I have tossed a small limit more than once. I don't mean smallest fish. I mean the smallest 3 or 5 whichever is the limit for the day.

I think the committee does a great job with dates and ramps so I will not make any comments on that. I do hope to fish more of these next year.

Just some thoughts...

Imo. Don't change anything commettie already has enough on their plate. There are plenty of tournaments trails that differ in spec just to change how a tournament trail has worked good for so long

I like the three fish ideal.
I would like to see a night tournament in September
Besides those two keep everything else the same.
What about a junk fish pot. Just take a pic of the fish with its weight for a weigh in.

I also think Night points should be pulled out of the AOY. There are guys like me who can't fish in the dark who are being robbed out of the AOY race. Not that I can win it but,,, There can be a separate prize for a night series. IMO

Silvertalon, I’m with you, I can’t catch fish in the dark. Oh wait, I can’t catch them in the light either!

Glenn once you get the night thing figured out, you won't need to see!! I used to hate it but dang it gets hot on those summer days!

definitely agree with the three fish limits DURING SUMMER months, KILL LESS FISH!!!!

i personally prefer a longer day, ive already committed the day may as well fish the extra time.

a weekend tournament away would be cool! dont have to go too far, would be cool to hang out/camp and have more opportunity to meet and get to know some folks. Barkley or Ky in March/April.

AOY is best over the whole year, to INCLUDE the night tournaments.

hope to fish more of these next year, gotta try and make Stephen and Billy work a little harder next year

Just one suggestion for the classic weekend. Fish till 3 PM. When we fish late spring, safe light is around 6:30ish, and fish till 2 PM. The classic ,safe light is almost an hour later, so our actual competitive time is about an hour less than spring.
Other than that, don't change anything else.
