Get newer boat or repower

I have a 2000 tr 21 would you sell or repower to a newer motor. I have an older motor 98 200 EFI on the boat now?

If your boat is sound, a new motor is a lot cheaper than a new rig.

But will he be able to get his money out of an old boat with new motor. Hearing some guys say no.

if you do repower I recommend going up to a 225 at a minimum. that Tr21 is a lot of weight for a 200.

The issue comes when you finally go to sell a boat that is 20 years older than the motor. you'll get hurt then. heck you cant get a decent used rig for what they want for a motor.

I think you would lose money on either no matter what. Depends how deep your pockets are....Are new boats holding their value that well? One of my favorite boats I've ridden in was an 18ft pro craft with a new 175 merc. We could run over 70 completely loaded.
