Wanting to go Friday. How the water color and current? Was hoping to walleye fish and maybe chunk a crankbait for smallmouth. Coming from Scott Co. tn. Long drive if the waters to dirty or currents to strong. Any info greatly appreciated!

Re: Below Watts Nar dam?

Hopefully someone will come along that knows the conditions there.

I can say that the Chickamauga dam has been spilling water all winter and I noticed yesterday that all the flood gates were open.

I would guess that Watts Bar would have similar conditions.

RE: Below Watts Nar dam?

Crossed on Hwy 30 from Decatur to Dayton yesterday, you could see lots of current around to bouys. Came back across Watts Bar Dam and it looked as if all the spillways were open. Very rough, don't recall seeing a boat below the dam. Last week there was lots of current on Watts Bar Lake.

Floodgates are open at every dam on Tennessee river . Have been for months. You can still fish but the current is very strong and it's not slowing down anytime soon

Swung by today for a look while heading from Sweetwater to Dayton...More than half of the spills were running water. I expected more with the rain we had today. I'm sure they will be this week. I wouldn't even attempt it while they're spilling that much water. Didn't see a single boat or bank-fisherman

Info below the Chick Dam - Fished below the chick dam from the bank yesterday for an hour.. water was back up and muddy. the Rock Jetty on the far side was under water and all gates were again Wide open as opposed to being partially closed. expecting probably 1.5 more inches of rain today and tonight which on the river could mean at least 3 or more feet of water in the river. hope this helps
