I have a Lowrance Elite 7 HDI and I know early on the unit supposedly had some issues reading the Navonics map , at least in a timely manner. I know the 4.0 software update seemed to help that issue some and now the unit has a 6.0 software update so my question is do the Navonics maps read ok in these unit now?? The old remedy was to use the Hotspots Pro maps which I don't care for because of the lack of detail and I am hoping someone has experience on this unit, thanks

No, the 6.0 update will probably not help the mapping. The Elite-7 problem with mapping was the processor speed and will struggle with a Navionics Plus card unless you are zoomed way out. I would still install the latest update because it addresses other issues. It will actually define the updates it addresses in the description.

Thanks for the information and for being the resource you have been on this board. I like the sonar and down imaging on this unit and so far have resisted the urge to update to one of the newer humminbird units and sell this one, but I wondered is there a map that this unit will run that has some detail?
