oil at HWY 58 rramp

I put in at the 58 bridge ramp around 8:00 this morning, nothing unusual. I come in about noon and just at the bridge heading towards the ramp I notice oil on the water. As I get closer to the ramp it is all along the rip rap on the right side coming in. I get to the ramp and the ramp has black tar/oil splashing up on it from the waves. Any ideas what this might have been? This was a pretty good size slick.

It’s a shame that keeps happening. It has happened in Harrison Bay Marina a couple times. Once the supply line to the gas at the pier busted some how. The second time from what I heard was a old boat in the marina lost all of its fuel.

I don’t know what happened there but it is sad.

I’d go wash your boat real good though. As soon as I got my boat out of the water both times I went straight to a spray and wash and made sure to get it off.

TVA will respond to it WAY quicker than the EPA!!!
