Tournament fishers

So I have fished a few of the dog fight and other tournaments. I know how it can be exciting if you have a good bag to weigh or heard someone caught a monster fish. That being said us tournament people need to try and be a little more considerate at weigh in time. I have seen way to many times, mainly at HBSP, people parking their rigs on the trailer right at the weigh instead of pulling back into the marked parking spot.. I know you might want to take a quick look but come on just pull back into a marked spot. Also we have a very bad habit of taking up the entire loading and unloading dock there at HBSP.. It really makes it hard for others to be able to load and unload. I here all the time about how some jerk pleasure boater came to close to someone fishing and things like that.. Maybe we bring some of this on ourselves.. I am not trying to ruffle anybodies feathers here, just saying that in order for the pleasure boater and such to treat us with respect we should try and give them some too. If you are in charge or a tournament especially the weekday dog fights please let the people who are fishing in them know to try and avoid things that put us fishermen in a bad light...

youre spot on! if the shoe fits wear it

Yes it is and I do know some of these nice boats really dont need to be sitting on the rocky bank but maybe use the long pier or find a grassy spot.. And always be aware of how much room you leave in front of and behind your boat when tying up! Some people tie up at the end of the loading dock so that unless you have a 15 foot boat there is not enough room behind them for another 20 footer..

HBSP is requiring permits for tournaments now, so we have a lot less of this...thank goodness

when did HBSP start that?? I really dont mind the tournys ... The people in charge just need to do a little better in making sure the people in the tourny know the guidelines ...
