Zman Chatterbait Freedom

I’ve tried using the Zman Chatterbait Freedom but I have a hard time keeping a trailer on it. It’s because with the skirt ring at the top of the ewg hook top leaves little room to slide the bait up to the top over the bend. So it usually slides back down the hook or I push it up so hard that it basically negates the swing head action. Anyone have an answer to this or had any success with these? Anyone ever use these without the skirts?

I have been using the ones Tank makes at Fishtales they seem to do good. I don't have a much issues with the trailers staying up. If you like that bait you might try some different trailer like a craw. after a catching a few with they will loosen up and start to slide. I have found when I am using a speed craw or something like that it can slide back and still be effective.
