Pickwick tailwater sauger

I used to fish the pickwick dam tailwaters 20 years ago from January thru April and catch some good sauger. Are there any sauger caught there anymore ? I’d love to visit the area again while I still can but I hate to travel 3 hours from home if there aren’t any fish being caught. Thanks for any replies.

I also used to fish there and did quite well. I moved to east tn and started fishing below Fourt Loudon and did well until the last three years. My understanding is TWRA stopped stocking sauger three years ago and started stocking walleye. Have caught quite a few big walleye there so I think this is probably true. My understanding is the walleye are easier to raise and stock. I don't know about Pickwick any more. would be nice to hear some feed back on this subject. keep em wet!

They usually catch some good Walleyes, Sauger, and Smallmouth about this time of year below Nickajack Dam.
