I have two Helix 10 Chirp SI GPS G2N that are running the original Software Version 1.460. The current version is 2.180. Is it necessary to install each Software Update or can you skip to current version? In any event, is this risky? I hate updates....unless of course it would make my graphs compatible with the Mega 360. Has anyone done this? Encounter any problems? Thanks.

Bird Software Updates

I have two Gen 1 Helix 10 SI's and they both still have the original software installed. I don't have the hardware to copy the program and install. Does anyone charge to do this on the side? Also, does the latest update have all the previous updates added to that program?

It appears to be a simple process if you have a computer and "SD" card. Or an Iphone and download the "FishSmart" app from Humminbird to Iphone. My primary concern is encountering issues during or after the process which may render your units unusable. I have read numerous on line threads were this has happened and required sending your units to Humminbird. I wish Humminbird would provide detail on each software update.

its a simple process, and the most current update is NEEDED to run the mega 360. i have the update on a card, if we can get to together i'll be happy to help you guys out
