Yeah, James helped me out a year ago with some advice and parts. I would say he is a man of his word. And from what I've seen a very good engine builder and not just an "engine assembler". There's a difference. emoThumbsup

I would like to think so. I have done a Pro max and have another one to do. A lot depends on how much you want to spend. If you stay with EFI you will need a Brucato ECU to feed it and most people don't want or have the money to spend on them. That is why I do a lot of EFI to carb engines.

From a stock 1996 225 ProMax how much HP can you get out of modding the engine and what are the mods that can be done? Just wondering. I only have 105 hours on this fresh rebuild now and there have been no mods done to the powerhead. Just the normal stuff left off the engine that most guys do to a rebuilt ProMax. The pistons used are Vertex pistons and steel cage bearings.

BTW James, I'm getting a kick out of reading your comments on BBC in the 2.5 high performance forum with you know who!! His feathers are all puffed out!! LOL!!!! But you have been a gentleman in a weird kind of way!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!

Don't worry about it! He is on drugs!!! LOL!

With the stuff you have, it can be ported many larger HP copies and then fed correctly. If cut to a 260 it will make close to it as the nik does make a little more power but steel is easier to work and more forgiving. The major difference is the 260 is a dry reed where the pro max is a wet reed. The 260 injectors are one the side of the front half and spray after the reed where the PM sprays the fuel directly onto the reed Thus a "WET" reed.

BTW: I am done with that thread. I said what I had to say and I am done! I will poke at him still on some of the other threads!!!
