Fun Day with Brandy and Aaron

Friday afternoon was great fun. I got to fish with Brandy and Aaron, a really fun couple from Wisconsin. They just took up fishing for the first time on a whim two or three years ago. Now they're expanding their fishing horizons and came to Chattanooga to pursue Tennessee River blue cats. They...

    Guide Fishing for Fun

Some people, including clients, know that I am cutting back on my own guide trips. I'm focusing more on booking the seven other independent guides who partner with Scenic City Fishing Charters. I'm doing that (A) because I'm getting old and being on the water day-after-day kicks my butt! It may...

    Struggling on Chick

Full disclosure... I'm a guide (not a bass guide) and operate Scenic City Fishing Charters. That said, in ANY fishing situation, a professional guide is always going to be able to teach/help anyone get over the hump. I'm a pretty darn good fisherman, in most fresh or saltwater situations. BUT...

How many boats have you owned

So you went down the Tennessee River to Kentucky Dam, then cut over into Barkley and traveled up the Cumberland River to Nashville? Very cool! I'd like to hear more about that someday.

How many boats have you owned

Yea, fun topic. Assuming it does NOT include canoes, I've owned five. - 10 foot jon with a 5 hp Johnson (kept it through college, until 1975. When it died I had nothing but canoes until 1978.) - bought 16 foot bass boat (don't remember brand) w/90 HP (I think) Evinrude. Kept it until 1985. - 16...

Bill Introduced to Further Restrict Trotlines

As expected, after the Tennessee Fish & Wildlife Commission declined to further restrict trotliners in Tennessee recently, avid paddlers found legislators willing to introduce bills that would override the TFWC. Paddlers, who consider trotlines stretched across Tennessee streams a safety hazard...

    Savage Gear Suicide Duck

My nephew found this lure at a storage unit sale. No writing on it whatsoever, but my Facebook Friends quickly told me it is a "Savage Gear Suicide Duck," similar to a Whopper Plopper. I don't bass fish much (with lures anyway), but I really have an urge to try and catch one on this lure. :)

    Tennessee Hunting Lease Search

If you haven't, I would suggest registering on another discussion forum called TNDeer.com Once registered, there is a specific section called "Hunting Lease Information." But I would also suggest searching the forum, and/or posting your inquiry in the "General Forum" as well.

    Low Water

I have always told everyone that anytime the Chickamauga water level goes to 676 or below, be extremely cautious at EVERY ramp on the lake! See: https://www.tva.com/Environment/Lake-Levels/Chickamauga Of course it's wise to be cautious every time you launch a boat, no matter what the water level.
