I was sititng here this after noon around 7:15ish and
decided since I haven't been fishing in over a month,
I was gonna do some pond hoppin'

Two of the ponds the owners were out of pocket
so I went over to my uncles house. He has a nice pond
and there are some BIG OL BUCKETMOUTHS in there...

Took three rods a chart and white
spinnerbait (it was still light), a spit'n image, and a sismic toad.

No takers on the blade, no takers on the toad...First fish
came on the Spit'n Image The fish hit the lure twice before he took it:

Then my uncle joined in with one off a spinnerbait:

Then another:

Then the biggest one:

The skeeters were trying to carry us off
when I caught this one so we called it a night:

I caught my two on the Spit'N Image and my
Uncle caught his on the 'Blade.

These fish were some jumpers too.

Those are nice bass!! Were they Florida bass because they are dark and in my Grandmothers ponds the bass are Florida bass I belive, only bacause they are dark black and they are growing super fast, I know that they are not spots because there mouths are large! Wonder if Florida bass can live up here in Tennessee? But all I know is that Florida Bass grow really fast and they get really really dark!

Good job Couch Tater. Wish I could sneak into a couple of ponds like that. Does he have any frogs out there this year? Looks like a good place to gig a few.

That place was full of croakers tonight, actually one was right beside us.

CAB, this pond is full of good fish there have been 10's and 12's caught before...last time the pond got really low a guy caught a 12lb fish out of there. The biggest bass I have caught out of there is 6 lb. He keeps some every once and a while and it doesn't hurt the fishing.

CAB, Florida bass can and have been stocked in TN. Chickamauga and kentucky lakes to name 2. I think the color of a bass is determined by the water color and the habitat they thrive in. If a FL bass were to be put in Chickamauga when it was cold and muddy, it would look pale just like our bass do under those conditions. If you took a TN bass and dumped him in TOHO, he would look real real green and dark like the other fish there because of all of the vegitation. i have heard that a FL bass will have a smaller looking head and a more full body, but I cant tell much of a difference from the bass i have caiught at toho and the bass here, except the ones on TOHO were huge! I think tater's pond fish look that way because of the presence of vegitation in the water, not mention looks like the fish are real healthy!

Tater, good looking fish! You cant beat a good pond! I learned most of what i know about Bass by fishing them as a youngster.
