Hey guys, I just bought a 2006 201 Stratos Pro XL with a Yamaha 250 VMAX HPDI motor on it. Noticed when I went for a test ride with the original owner that the speedometer didn't work. (GPS speed worked tho). Normally when I have had this problem its due to wood or trash in the pilot hole on the lower unit, but when I bought the boat and actually got down there and tried to find the hole, I couldn't find one. The lower unit is different than my old boat. The front of the lower unit kind of comes to a point on the tip and has a ding right on the front where the original owner probably hit something. Does anybody know if the pilot hole is on the tip of the lower unit and maybe my "ding" has the hole closed up, or am I looking in the wrong direction? GPS speed works fine, just like to have everything working like it should!
