1.13.07 Nickajack Crappie/Whiteabass

Had to get out in the nice weather yesterday so my wife and I headed to Nickajack while the kids stayed at the grandparents. We did manage to catch some fish. Nothing big but ended the day with 5 white bass and 3 crappie, all caught in the bay area when you launch. The fish were stacked in there as they normally are this time of year. All were little and caught on shinners. We only stayed 2 hours but had a great time. There were reports of some stripers hitting and a guy I talked with caught only one. We did drift about 10 times with nothing. Better days are ahead!

Haven't been down there in a while but have been having fun with the spots and smallmouth in section up below chick dam.
A couple of years ago I caught some huge crappie, white bass, and sauger in launch area below Nickajack dam. I need to get back over there. Seems like less fishing pressure over there. Thanks for the report.
