Part 1
AlvinC and I hit the Riverpark today with the express intention in catching smallmouth. We floated down the river about 2.5 miles and boated 3 smallies and 5 spots and lost 1 smallie and 1 spot. Very slow. We did boat about 15 bull bluegill. They would just kill the spoon. All fish but one were caught on a small jigging spoon fishing under the boat is 8-15 feet. All smallmouths were around 12-13 inches.
Part 2
We decided that the weather was so nice we would try some catfish at the Nuke. We got skunked. We did watch a few boats catch some and we learned a little more about the discharge.
We decided to try bass fishing and boy did the wind start blowing. We headed into Wolftever (mainly because I had never been). Caught 1 spot and 1 yellow stripe (I could catch a spot out of a mud puddle). Headed back to HBSP to get ready to go home. We decided to fish the marina and before I could stop the boat I noticed bass busting threadfin in the last bay on the first row of the boat slips. We put 6 largemouth in the boat and I lost one in the last bay. I bet there were millons of shad 2-3 inches long in that last open slip. Two of the fish would probably keep. Not a bad way to end a pretty slow day on the Chick.
