AlvinC and I hit the Riverpark this morning with our co-worker Jimmy. The morning started out slow but we ended up with about 30 bass in the boat with 7-8 of them being smallies. Perfect day to be on the water. Most bass were caught on tubes with a few coming on jigging spoons and pig n jig. We also managed to catch 15-20 yellow stripe on jigging spoons. They kill the spoons. Jimmy said they backup and get a running start at them.emoLaugh

Big fish of the day was a 2lb smallie and a 2 lb spot. Not too bad. All fish were caught within a cast length of the bank.

Wiskers, I seen you truck there. I looked for you out on the water. I think i seen you running up river near the veterans bridge. 3 of yall in a white Nitro?

There was 3 of us but it was a white 21 foot Stratos with a 225 Evnrude. I don't remember see you. I did see you last Friday though.

Richard and Al, you need not talk about my fishing partners that way. It is not their fault they are not as good looking as me.emoBigsmile

Nice fish! What was the deal with the smallmouths belly? looks like it had pooped broken glass.

It had a hook in it and it looked infected. I removed the hook (which fell out) and sent him on his merry way. Hopefully with the hook removed he will heal up.

That's some nice fish. I was debating on going to riverpark or up to the lake. Those spots and smallies sure are a blast on light tackle but I was wanting to try for some good crappie up at the lake. Sounds like I should've went to riverpark.

You guys are wearing them out aren't you! You all are talking about a spoon, I'm just curious if anyone uses a silver buddy down the river?

We don't mainly because I cannot find any and I heard they are more expensive. We use the Cotton Cordell spoons. 1/2 oz I think.

The gates were open last weekend. The current was going so fast you could actually see it bulge up in front of the bridge pillings. I bet the water bulged up 4-5 inches. Unreal. The water also had spots of foam on it from the flood gates.
