11/28/06 below the dam

Left work early yesterday to see if we could find a few fish on this cloudy rainy day. Met Dr. Detroit @ riverpark around 10:30 and started fishing close by. Kind of started out slow but eventually turned on pretty good. Caught numerious spots including a couple in the 3lb. range, caught no LM and several Smallmouths. Most of all spots came off tube (green pumpkin),most all smallmouth caught off 1/2 oz. jig (Black n Blue) with a paca chunk trailer. Did manage a few decent spots off Spinnerbaits (white). Fish were scattered from shallow to close to cover. Had a great time. emoToast

Those Sm that were caught off the  jig, how deep were they?

Both of these were caught off jig and they were around 12 ft.deep.

Good report. How much water was being released? What size weight were you using with your tubes?

They had the water cut back a little from what they had been running in the past week. I really did not count how many flood gates they had open but I know they did have a few closed. The tubes were fished on a what appeared to be 1/4-3/8 oz. weights. Dr. Detroit was throwing a tube all day and I stuck pretty firm to my jig. He can probably confirm that in a later post when he gets online.

Sounds like a good day especially with spots that large. I just hope the fish stay active through the weekend.
