Ok guys since January I have put a new fuel pump, fuel lines, power pack (twice due to bad stator), optical eye, new plug wires (gray ones), new stator. Now my boat is having same problems as when my stator/pp went out. Compression test was done on the boat and it was fine. First few runs after having all this replaced boat ran fine then starting having problems again. Boat will only run around 4800rpm and has no power on plane or getting on plane. Smelled something hot. I was told that my rectifier is probaly bad, but am having no tach problems. My in dash voltage meter goes up and down from 12-14, and at times is had dipped down to 8. Could the rectifier be the problem. I have put around $1700 in this boat since January and wondering if it is even worth it. Any help would be appreciated.

May have figured this one out. After looking at all the electrial stuff again it all checked out fine. Happen to look inside my carbs and noticed something stuck to my #4 high speed jet. Pulled it out and it was something that looked like silicone. Pulled it out and took it to the lake and everything ran great. Hope this fixes my problems.

That "silicone" looking material could be a sign that the inside of your fuel line is deteriorating. Might be time to consider replacing the line and bulb with the newer ethanol resistant parts. I'd suggest getting your parts from a boat store NOT Walmart. Good luck!

Best bet is after replacing bulb and line I would put a new filter in line as well. After that try to only find ethanol free fuel. There's a free app called Pure Gas. It will show you any ethanol free stations near your location.

No, it has become a money pit. Time to bite the bullet and buy a new one. This from the guy who put about 10 grand into his before finally putting up the white flag and saying no freaking more! emoBang Jmax
