the motor was great, loaded the boat, went home put the batteries on charge , went the next morning and it was real hard to turn it right ( thought it was just stiff ) then it wouldnt turn right at all , but would still turn left fine , get this now it wont turn left ? or right. is it the steering cables , does anybody know ? thanks for the help.

it is a javelin 18 footer, tho motor is a johnson 150 . i do know it is a dual steering cable and they look ( wich apparently , that dont matter ) perfect . u caint even move the steering wheel , with somebody twisting the motor. hope this helps , thanks again

THAT SOUNDS REAL WIERD ...i`D LOOK AT THE WHEEL MECHANISM ITSELF...SOME ARE A RACK AND PINION TYPE SET-UP AND THE BRACKET MAY HAVE COME LOOSE SOMEWHERE. sHOULDN`T STOP WORKING LIKE THAT ALL OF A SUDDEN

Take the cables loose from the motor and see if you can swivel the motor. Then if the cables can be removed from sterring box then that way you can dertmine if its the cables or steering gears.

I am like snuffy It shouldn't happen like that unless it is the gears its self.
