1995 jonhson 200 venom

bought a stratos 201xl with a johnson 200 venom few weeks ago, just wondering how good of motors they were and if i should expect any problems?

They are work horses. Keep a eye on the top bearing cap bolts as they back out and can damage that engine. Other than that, they are good sound engines with no more issues than anything else. IMO... Hope this helps!!

+1111 on the top bearing......will ruin your day and then some. I had a 97` 225 and the only thing i had go bad was the fuel pump.....after 10 years. Change the plugs every year or two, new water pump every 2-3 years,MIX the oil, and check the top bearing bolts regularly. they are kind of hard to get your fingers on, so take an open end wrench and just feel of them .

I have had 2 of them. The only reason my 98 let go was my foot. Not lower unit but my actual foot!!!! emoCool . My 94 I am running now was built by Wrechin in January. I love the Venoms.
