Whats happenin' folks. i know i'm a stranger on here last couple years, but i'm still around. still up near DC. not really fishing much cept the rare occasions i get back down to huntsville and hit up tritoncarl or bprice, but i'm still hunting a lot.
got this deer here on 7oct on fort belvoir army base. its public land hunting, very heavily hunted, with very smart deer. this young buck messed up though, and got broadside 15 yards away from me perched up in my lone wolf. not the biggest buck in the woods, but makes me happy with my bow. he and a spike came out together, they finally both looked away and let me draw, sent an atom tipped easton a/c/c through him so fast he never knew what hit him. saw him go down about 50 yards away. he died in the very bottom of the biggest ravine i've ever hunted in, so i had lots of work to do afterwards. even with a deer cart, took me over 20 minutes and 2 pulled back muscles to get him out. these are well earned backstraps!
good luck to y'all out there in the woods, and be safe. i'll be heading to nebraska on a deer hunt in a few weeks, hopefully i'll have a good trip report when i get back.
