For those that didn't know, you can apply for the first elk hunt in TN in 150 years. Any TWRA License dealer can do the application fairly quickly. Deadline to apply is May 31st. There will be 4 tags awarded and 1 auctioned off. Its a once in a lifetime draw but I'm gonna at least get the preference points.

I applied the day they started taking apps. Figured what the heck, I have as good a chance as anyone.
The odds will be like the lottery but, if you don't play or apply, you can't win or get drawn. The $10 application fee will go to enhance the future of Tennessee's elk herd. What a wonderful addition to an already excellent Tennessee outdoor offering. Nothing like watching a big bull bugle and the hair on the back of your neck do the wave along with the goose bumps of excitement. I have heard of anticipated estimates for more than 100,000 resident and non-residents to apply. I had my grandson apply as well.

my name is in the hat as well, it killed me last year during bow season, seen 2 bulls one @ 30 yards and the other about 100 up at Royal Blue. They are very large.
