2-6-07 cold at the hiwassee

WENT TO THE HIWASSEE TODAY WATER TEMP AT HWY 58 RAMP WAS 36F OUT IN THE RIVER WE MANAGED TO REACH 40F. WE FISHED SPOONS AND JERK BAITS AROUND BLUFFS. CAUGHT A COUPLE STRIPES. NO OTHER FISH. BUT THE WATER WAS COLD AND THE WIND WAS BLOWING. NOT SURE WHY I WENTemoBang , I GUESS FOR A WATER TEMP REPORT.emoThumbsup

Haven't fished the Hiwassee since the refuge closure...looks like I'm not missing much. When you say you caught stripes, are you referring to white bass or stripers?

With a water temp of 36 deg , I'd say hes talking about popsicle fish.

Thanks for the report thought about going to the hiwass tomorrow but my boat is brokeemoBawl. It don't look like im going to miss much.
