well i got back from iraq and bought me a boat and a truckand decided i needed something small and cheap on fuel since the truck didnt quite cut it. well i found a 2000 honda civic with new parts on it and low miles bought the car and the next day got tags and ins and got on the freeway and poof the tranny went out on me, only got up to 65mph set on cruise, and i only put 29 miles on it. ive been reading that the 4spd automatic trannys are junk so i got to buy another one, but instead of putting in another auto, im just going to put in a 5spd manual. ok so heres the question who in chattanooga local can and will do the job that is pretty trust worthy with doing so. any info would be greatly appreciated

It is usally not worth changing from auto to manual. You would have to mount a clutch pedal and master cyclinder and the transmission mounts are probably not the same. It would be expensive and time consuming.

I dont know who would do that for you. But my wife has a 2003 civic with over 100,000 miles on it and have not had any trouble out of it. I would just get the one you have rebuilt.

Chris Grant has a garage in the SD induatrial park he put new tranny in my Tahoe 3weeks ago very happy his number is 355-0859
